Food & Wine Walk

Enjoy the flavours of the Portuguese Cuisine in Lisbon traditional places. The guide will give you lots of inside tips on Wine, Petiscos, Food, Fado and Good Company! Bring your appetite! Districts we visit: Baixa – Chiado – Bairro Alto. Regular tours in English!

Find out about Lisbon’s great Cafés, such as the 18th-century Café Nicola and Portugal’s strong café-culture. Try the famous codfish cake with a glass of refreshing green wine at the Rossio Square. Learn about the Bairro Alto quarter, home to some of Lisbon’s most famous restaurants, fado-houses, bars and nightclubs. Stop at an atmospheric wine-bar in the Bairro Alto for tapas and a glass of our local white wine. Go down the steps of Calçada do Duque. This street has a variety of restaurants with great esplanades and music, and is very popular especially during the summer months, because of the great view over the Castle Hill. Take a look at all the delicious and exotic products on display at an old gourmet shop, from dried, salted Bacalhau to the sausages, hams and cheeses, and learn all their secrets. Learn the history of Port, Portugal’s famous fortified wine, and then try it with the delicious cheese and marmalade. Learn the history of Ginjinha, the favourite liqueur of many Portuguese and a typical drink in Lisbon, and try it at the first place that started to sell it in 1840. Finish your food and wine tour in style, in the Neo-Moorish 17th-century palace, unassuming on the outside, hiding one of the most intriguing interiors in the city. Time for the last tasting Portuguese bread and chouriço, accompanied by delicious Alentejo red wine.
