Travel to Fátima throughout Ribatejo farmland. Experience to live as a pilgrim in the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fatima, a legendary and important Christian place that is located at Cova da Iria. The city has become one of the most important international destinations for religious tourism, receiving approximately 6 million visitors a year. In Fatima we will have time to visit all the important places that make this Sanctuary such an emblematic place. Interesting sights as part of the Berlin Wall, a holm oak where Our Lady appeared to the 3 little shepherds (Lucia, Jacinta and Francisco), as well as attending Mass at the Chapel of Apparitions, will make this a real pilgrimage experience. After lunch, which although not included or guide does not hesitate to recommend some good places, our visit goes to Valinhos, where the 3 children saw the Angel of Portugal while they were herding their flocks. We head to Hungarian Calvary, ending our visit to Fatima at Sister Lucia’s House (entrance included).

In the morning we will start with a drive along the rolling hills while heading to the Sanctuary of Fátima – one of the most important Christian sites, with 5 million visitors every year. Then we will visit the stunning 14th century Batalha Monastery – a UNESCO world heritage site. During lunch time, relax at the fishing village of Nazaré, known for its variety of regional restaurants and cafés. Afterwards, we’ll make a quick stop at the Nazaré cliffs to appreciate the marvelous views over the Atlantic.  After leaving Nazaré, enjoy the sea breeze as we drive along the Atlantic coast passing by gorgeous cliffs and the picturesque villages of Foz do Arelho and São Martinho do Porto. The last stop of the day will be at Óbidos. What makes it one of Europe’s most romantic medieval villages are its incredibly picturesque cobblestone streets. It is lined with colorful houses filled with geraniums and bougainvillea – all encircled by the walls of a 12th century castle.

Sintra leaves most visitors with a feeling of mystical enchantment. It’s magical palaces, forests, Moorish castle and UNESCO World Heritage site city center are like a page from a fairy tale. We will start the morning in this impressively beautiful village, where you’ll have free time to explore its historical center, visit National Sintra Palace and taste its delicious typical pastries. Afterwards we will drive to Óbidos, a charming romantic village where you will have free time for lunch. Remember to bring your camera because you will most likely fall in love with this colorful medieval village filled with flowers. After lunch, we will head to Fátima, where we will recall the history of the apparitions and the message of Our Lady of Fátima. The Sanctuary of Fátima is nowadays one of the most important Christian sites – with 5 million visitors every year.
