After crossing Vasco da Gama Bridge (the longest one in Europe) we will drive through the Alentejo plains heading to the UNESCO World Heritage City of Évora. After circling the medieval walls, we will park the van and go for a pleasing walking tour, crossing the old city and stopping in the most iconic sights in town: the Bones Chapel, São Francisco Church, the Cathedral, the Roman Temple and the University.
Make a guided visit (1 hour) to the Cartuxa Wine Cellars, known for the famous Pera Manca Red Wine, one of the best wines in Portugal, and have 3 wine tastings at the end. We will then have free time for lunch in the main central square of the city. In the afternoon, on the way back to Lisbon, we will stop at the Medieval Castle of Palmela and the viewpoint of Cristo Rei and then return to the capital through the 25th of April Bridge – another opportunity to appreciate impressive views over Lisbon.
