Arrábida Sesimbra & Wine Tasting
Leaving Lisbon by the Vasco da Gama bridge (the longest in Europe), our first stop will be in the Castle of Setúbal - a stunning fortress from the 16th century. We will then drive along the mountains of the Arrábida Natural Park (500m peak) to admire the spectacular views over the Atlantic Ocean and also to enjoy a relaxed break on the clear and peaceful beach of Portinho da Arrábida. We will then stop for lunch at the fishing village of Sesimbra. As an option, you can visit the Museu do Queijo (Cheese Museum), and learn how cheese is made (we can even make our own) and have a tasting.
After lunch it’s time for a Wine tasting and a guided tour around one of the oldest wine producers in Portugal, Casa Museu José Maria da Fonseca, which has remained in the same family (includes 2 wine tastings). Then it is time to visit Palmela Castle - a remarkable place to take amazing photos. The last stop will be at the Cristo-Rei (Christ statue) to enjoy the last sight of the trip: a great view over Lisbon. Return to Lisbon by the 25th de April.
