Évora Palmela Tour

After crossing the Vasco da Gama Bridge (the longest in Europe) we will drive through the Alentejo plains heading to the UNESCO World Heritage City of Évora.  After circling the medieval walls, we stop the van and go for a pleasing walking tour, crossing the old city and stopping in the more iconic sights in town: the Bones Chapel, the São Francisco Church, the Cathedral, the Roman Temple and the University.

Visit the Cartuxa Wine Cellars and have several wine tastings. We will then have free time for lunch in the main central square of the city. In the afternoon, on the way back to Lisbon, we stop at the pre-historical site of Almendres, the Medieval Castle of Palmela and the viewpoint of Cristo Rei, returning to Lisbon by the 25th of April Bridge – another opportunity to appreciate impressive views over Lisbon.
